Analysis of Factors Influencing Exercise Benefits and Barriers in Cardiovascular Disease Patients Visiting the Emergency Department Based on Machine Learning

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the exercise benefits/barriers and influencing factors among cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients seeking emergency care. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select CVD patients who visited the emergency department of a tertiary hospital in Chengdu from December 2023 to July 2024 as the study subjects. The investigation was conducted through medical record review and on-site questionnaire surveys. The research tools included a general information questionnaire, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), the Exercise Benefits/Barriers Scale (EBBS), the Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). Data were entered into Excel and statistically analyzed using SPSS 26.0. Results: Among the 1080 patients, 62.9% did not meet physical activity standards. Depression and social support explained 48.0% of the total variance in exercise benefits/barriers. The random forest algorithm performed best in predicting influencing factors. Conclusion: CVD patients seeking emergency care are generally insufficiently active, with depression and social support significantly impacting exercise benefits/barriers. Read More

The Influential Role of Baduanjin on the Mental Health of Medical Students: A Review

Abstract: Baduanjin, a traditional Chinese health care practice, not only promotes muscle relaxation and bone strengthening while preventing and treating illnesses but also contributes positively to mental nourishment and emotional regulation. This paper employs a literature review and logical analysis to comprehensively assess the impact of Baduanjin on the mental health of medical students in higher education institutions. The findings indicate a significant prevalence of mental health issues among medical students in recent years, with a myriad of complex influencing factors. Furthermore, interventions aimed at enhancing the mental well-being of college students have become increasingly diverse. Notably, Baduanjin stands out as a traditional physical activity intervention that is both straightforward to implement and effective in bolstering students' mental health. Application of Controlled Release Mechanisms in Vaccine Delivery

Abstract: Vaccines, as an essential means of preventive medicine, profoundly impact human health by stimulating an immune response to protect the body from pathogens or treat diseases. However, conventional vaccine delivery methods have limitations such as multiple injections, rapid degradation in vivo, and difficulty in targeted delivery. The development of controlled release mechanisms has overcome these challenges, optimized the immune response and improved the efficacy and safety of vaccines by precisely controlling the time, space and dose of vaccine release in vivo. This review explores the fundamentals, recent applications and future directions of controlled release mechanisms in vaccine delivery, focusing on the design and application of intelligent delivery systems such as biodegradable nanoparticles, self-healing microspheres, scaffolded vaccines and targeted vaccine systems. Evaluating the Impact of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) on Postoperative Outcomes in Pancreatic Cancer Patients: A Historical Control Study

Abstract: Objective: This study evaluates the impact of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program on postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing pancreatic cancer surgery. It compares traditional perioperative care with ERAS-based interventions, focusing on key rehabilitation indicators such as postoperative intestinal function recovery, length of hospital stays, medical costs, and the incidence of complications. Methods: A total of 74 patients were studied, with 37 receiving traditional perioperative care and 37 managed under the ERAS protocol. Data collection included intraoperative indicators such as operation time, fluid input, blood loss, and postoperative recovery measures like first ambulation, pain scores, and complications. Results: The ERAS group demonstrated significantly faster recovery of gastrointestinal function, earlier mobilization, and reduced postoperative pain within the first 12 hours compared to the control group (p<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications was lower in the ERAS group (13.51% vs. 37.84%, p=0.0166). Furthermore, the ERAS protocol led to a shorter length of hospital stay and lower total medical costs (p<0.0001). Conclusion: The implementation of the ERAS protocol for pancreatic cancer surgery significantly improves recovery outcomes, reduces complications, and lowers healthcare costs. Research on Rapid Detection of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes Using Colloidal Gold Immunoassay and PCR Methods

Abstract: This study used colloidal gold immunoassay strips and PCR (probe method) kit methods to detect Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. The accuracy and precision of the colloidal gold immunoassay strips and PCR (probe method) kit methods were validated using proficiency testing blind samples, and the consistency with the current national gold standard method was compared. The results of the two rapid detection methods were consistent with the results of the national standard method. This paper also analyzed the detection time and cost of the two rapid detection methods and the national standard method. The PCR (probe method) kit method takes less time for detection and can be used for high-throughput detection, with high sensitivity and low interference. It requires high equipment and personnel capabilities. The colloidal gold immunoassay strips method has the lowest detection cost, but its sensitivity is lower than that of the PCR method. Medical Mindfulness Intervention Program: Pathway to Enhancing Mindfulness, Self-Management Efficacy, and Quality of Life of Breast Cancer Patients

Abstract: This study evaluates the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based nursing intervention in enhancing mindfulness, self-management efficacy, and quality of life in breast cancer patients. Using a randomized controlled trial design, 80 participants were divided into intervention (n=40) and control (n=40) groups. The intervention group participated in an 8-week mindfulness program, while the control group received standard care. New Techniques for Prevention and Treatment of Oral Bacterial Diseases

Abstract: Oral bacterial diseases include caries, periodontal disease, gingivitis, and oral cancer, and they are usually associated with an imbalance in the regulation of the oral microbiota. In the prevention and treatment of oral bacterial diseases, in addition to good oral hygiene habits and traditional treatments, studies have shown that a variety of emerging technologies, such as gingival mesenchymal stem cells (GMSCs), novel nanomaterial-based antibacterial photodynamic therapies, fluorescence molecular imaging, programmed death receptor ligand-1 positron emission tomography (PD-L1 PET), and so on, have shown high efficacy in the treatment of oral and bacterial diseases. The Application of Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Midnight Noon Ebb Flow in the Diarra Dominant Irritable Bow Syndrome

Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of warming acupuncture combined with the Ziwu Liuzhu method in D-IBS treatment and to investigate its potential mechanisms, including regulating gastrointestinal motility, neuro-immune networks, and gut microbiota balance. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with D-IBS patients who met diagnostic criteria, divided into three groups: warming acupuncture group, combined Ziwu Liuzhu and warming acupuncture group, and control group. The warming acupuncture group received warm needle stimulation at specific acupoints, while the combined group received treatments at specific times on Spleen and Stomach meridians according to the Ziwu Liuzhu method. Treatment outcomes were assessed using IBS symptom severity scores, quality of life scores, inflammatory marker analysis, and gut microbiota profiling. Results: The combined Ziwu Liuzhu and warming acupuncture group showed significant improvement in relieving diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bloating, with longer-lasting effects. This group also exhibited superior enhancement in gastrointestinal motility, neuro-immune function, and gut microbiota balance compared to the other groups. Metabolomics Study on the Mechanism of Junfang Tea in Regulating Glucose and Lipid Metabolism

Abstract: Objective: This study aims to explore the regulatory effects and potential mechanisms of Junfang tea extract on metabolic disorders induced by a high-sugar, high-fat diet. Methods: A high-sugar, high-fat mouse model was established, and 220 healthy male mice were randomly divided into seven groups: normal control group (NC), model control group (MC), positive control group (PC), and four Junfang tea extract groups (DYA, DYB, DYC, DYD). The NC and PC groups consisted of 35 mice each, while the other groups had 30 mice each. The NC group was fed a standard diet, while the other groups were fed a high-sugar, high-fat diet for 8 weeks to induce the model. Starting from the 9th week, the observation groups were administered different doses of Junfang tea extract by gavage, while the PC group received metformin and lovastatin as positive controls. In the 15th week, blood samples were collected, and serum was separated for the measurement of glucose (Glu), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total protein (TP), albumin (ALB), urea, and creatinine levels. Results: Tea polyphenols and catechins are the main active components in Junfang tea, which regulate several metabolic pathways, including fatty acid oxidation, fat synthesis, and glucose metabolism, by modulating the AMPK, PPAR, and SREBP signaling pathways. Differential metabolite analysis showed that the abundance of Sinapoylhexoside and other metabolites was significantly higher in the NC group than in the MC group, suggesting its potential role in maintaining metabolic balance. The State of Research on PD1/PD-L1 Regulation by Non-coding RNA in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Abstract: Globally, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the primary cause of death from cancer. Immunotherapy has advanced significantly in the medical management of NSCLC over the previous couple of decades. Particularly immune checkpoint drugs that target programmed death receptor 1 (PD-1) and its ligand 1 (PD-L1). Meanwhile, miRNAs are crucial for controlling the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway in NSCLC and are an increasingly significant field of investigation at the moment. For these reasons, this paper reviewed the mechanism of the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway in immunological escape from malignant cells and explored how non-coding RNAs (including microRNAs, long-chain non-coding RNAs, and cyclic RNAs) can affect the occurrence as well as growth of NSCLC by regulating PD-1/PD-L1 activity. Argument cites specific miRNAs such as miRNA-200c have the capability to alter the level of PD-L1 expression and thus enhance cancer innate immunity. Beyond that, LncRNA such as NEAT1 affect expression of PD-L1 and evasion of the body's defenses through interaction with miRNAs. Abstract: This study summarizes the nursing experience of dental implant restoration in a patient with cerebral palsy and dentition defect. We applied the PDCA nursing mode throughout the patient's treatment process and observed significant positive outcomes. The surgery and nursing care proceeded smoothly, with the patient's neurological functions remaining stable postoperatively. Research shows that Zhu's theory not only has unique advantages in regulating emotions and balancing the mind and body but also provides innovative ideas for modern mental disorder treatment, emphasizing dialectical treatment and emotional regulation. Cost of Illness – Acquired Brain Injury in Queensland Children: Evidence from a Population- Based Study

Abstract: Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) affects 280-1373/100,000 young people globally each year, with non-traumatic acquired brain injury (ABI) affecting an additional 82.3/100,000 [1]. ABI leads to long-term negative impacts on patients, families, and society, costing the global economy around US$400 billion annually [2]. Objective: This study estimates the direct (hospitalisation) and indirect (opportunity costs from bed-days) costs of children with ABI. It also analyses factors influencing hospital length of stay, helping guide resource allocation. Methods: Using an incidence-based, bottom-up approach, average length of stay is used to estimate medical costs. Regression analyses (linear, logit, and ordered logit models) were used to assess factors influencing length of stay and ABI severity. Results: In 2020, 5667 new ABI cases in Queensland incurred $0.112 billion in total costs. The cost per mild case was $15,863.41, while severe cases averaged $300,049.61. Mild cases represented 75% of total costs. ICU stay length and ventilatory support duration were significant factors in cost analysis. Five-Year Trend Analysis of Blood-Borne Disease Screening Results in Shiyan, Hubei Province, China (2019-2023): A Time Series Study

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the temporal trends of blood-borne disease (hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, and syphilis) screening results in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, from 2019 to 2023. The research is based on five years of monthly screening data from the Shiyan Central Blood Station, utilizing time series analysis methods including trend analysis, seasonal analysis, and ARIMA modeling. Results show that the screening positivity rates for hepatitis B and hepatitis C demonstrate a slow declining trend, while the positivity rates for HIV and syphilis remain relatively stable. All diseases exhibit significant seasonal fluctuations, with higher detection rates in summer. The study also finds that the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 had a significant impact on screening work, leading to a temporary decrease in testing volume. This research provides important evidence for understanding the prevalence trends of blood-borne diseases in Shiyan City, offering references for local blood safety management and public health decision-making, and potentially providing methodological insights for similar studies in cities of comparable scale. Observation on the Efficacy of Fasciotome Technology Combined with Italian Fascial Manipulation for Non-Specific Low Back Pain

Abstract: Objective To observe and study the efficacy of fascia knife technique combined with Italian fascia manipulation in patients with non-specific low back pain. Methods From May 2022 to November 2022, 40 interns and students with non-specific low back pain in Guangdong Industrial Injury Rehabilitation Hospital were selected as the study subjects. Randomized controlled experiment was used to divided them into control group and observation group, with 20 students in each group. The control group was treated with Italian fascia manipulation alone, and the experimental group was treated with fascia knife technique. After 4 weeks of treatment, the long-term course of treatment was evaluated comprehensively, and the pain score and the degree of dysfunction before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the effective rate of observation group was 95.00% higher than that of control group (90.00%), but there was no significant difference between groups (x²=3.14, P > 0.05). Before and after treatment, there were significant differences in PRI sensory score, PRI emotional score, PRI total score, VAS and PPI scores between the two groups, which showed a decreasing trend, and the decrease rate of observation group was greater than that of control group (t=4.90, 3.68, 4.69, 3.40, 3.39, P < 0.05). The dysfunction scores of the two groups were significantly different before and after treatment, and showed a downward trend, and the dysfunction scores of the observation group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the control group (8.23±2.43) points (10.67±3.23) points (t=4.89, P < 0.05). Conclusion The combination of fascia knife technique and Italian fascia manipulation can achieve significant long-term results in patients with non-specific low back pain, alleviate pain symptoms and improve functional dysfunction. Study on the Possibility of Aflatoxin Contamination in Fermentation Starter

Abstract: This study explored the possibility of Aspergillus flavus contamination and toxin production during the fermentation of starter. Aspergillus flavus isolated from natural fermentation was selected as the research object, and mixed with Transocephalia racemosa and Mucor circinelloides to establish starter. Toxin production and toxin level of Aspergillus flavus in starter were analyzed by PCR, HPLC, competitive ELISAand mouse experiment. The results showed that the isolated Aspergillus flavus strain contained aflR, omt-1 and ver-1 gene fragments; HPLC chromatogram showed that this strain mainly produced AFB1 and the concentration was 16.8µg/kg; Aspergillus flavus grew well on the drug block under construction, completely covered the drug block surface after 36h, and had strong toxin production ability. When mixed with Transverse Rhizopus racemosus and Mucor circinellus to establish starter, the growth and toxin production ability of Aspergillus flavus were inhibited. Afteroral administration oftwo kinds of AFB1-containing extractsto mice, the liver tissue was obviously damaged, and Jianqu did not show inhibitory effect on the toxicity of AFB1.
