Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine care strategies in the Management of hypertension in the elderly: A Meta-Analysis Study

Abstract: This study analyses, evaluates and summarizes the characteristics and effects of combined Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western medicine (WC) care strategies in the management of hypertension among elderly patients. Included in this study were randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of hypertensive patients aged 60 years and older, and these RCTs mainly combined a variety of integrated Chinese and Western medicine care strategies, such as pharmacological treatments, lifestyle interventions and their Chinese medicine therapies. These studies focused on key health indicators such as blood pressure control, improvement in quality of life, reduction in complication rate, and improvement in patient satisfaction. From the results, it can be seen that the combined Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine care strategies have a more obvious positive effect in improving the quality of life in terms of treatment effectiveness, patient satisfaction, and improvement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Traditional Chinese Medicine Care strategies always include Chinese medicine dietary care, Chinese medicine massage care, and instruction in Taijiquan, anti-hypertensive exercises, Qigong and other exercise methods and so on. And Western medicine care strategies are always include to give health teaching on monitoring blood pressure and diet and exercise and so on. Although the data is a little less in terms of complication rate, it also shows a positive impact. And there was no significant publication bias in the studies included in this meta-analysis, but overall This study highlights the potential of integrated Chinese and Western medicine care as an effective management strategy for elderly patients with hypertension, while pointing to the need for more high-quality studies to further validate these results and explore best practices and clinical applications. A Study on Application of Construal Theory in English Translation of Chinese Medical book: take English Translation of Jin Gui Yao Liao as an Example

Abstract: The translation of Chinese medical books is characterized by language, cultural connotation and cognitive domain background, which makes the translators encounter different levels of difficulty in the process of translation and form different translations accordingly. This paper takes the construal theory in cognitive linguistics as a guide, analyzes the important role of four kinds of means of construal in the process of translating Chinese medical books, and analyzes the different English translations of JGL under the construal theory, analyzes that different translations reflect different cognitive mechanisms of the translators, and comes to the conclusion that the translations should maximally reflect the cognitive points of reference of the authors at that time, so as to maximize the translations. It is also concluded that the translation should maximally reflect the author's cognitive reference point so as to maximize the closeness of the translation to the original text, aiming to provide theoretical guidance and reference for the English translation of Chinese medical books. Protective mechanism and clinical application of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with abnormal liver function

Abstract: Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) patients with abnormal liver function will further aggravate the complexity of the disease and affect the quality of life of patients. Sodium-glucose cotransporter protein 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors are novel hypoglycemic agents that may produce hepatoprotective effects in patients with T2DM combined with hepatic function abnormalities by improving hyperglycemic toxicity, regulating lipid metabolism, decreasing visceral adiposity, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and other possible mechanisms. Embracing Self-collecting cervico-vaginal Human Papilloma Virus testing for cervical cancer screening: An exploratory study of acceptability among women in Penang

Abstract: Objective: This study aims to assess the acceptability and awareness of Penang women regarding self-collected cervico-vaginal specimens for HPV testing. Method: The study was conducted in Penang State throughout January to December 2020, in collaboration with the Penang West Hat Community Programme. The study's target population included women aged 25-60 from the Little Siradan, North West, Terenga, and Barat daya communities, who self-collected cervicovaginal samples using a cervicovaginal brush. Following sample collection, participants completed brief questionnaires to gauge their acceptance and perceptions of this self-sampling approach. They also received counseling and guidance at local health departments for Pap test follow-ups. Result: Vaginal microbiota examination revealed a significant correlation between baseline (W0) and twelve weeks later (W12) across various parameters, encompassing the Women's Health Questionnaire (WHQ), blood samples, fecal samples, distributed products to subjects, and vaginal samples (p < 0.001). Analysis of DNA concentration (VM) demonstrated a substantial difference in A260/280 ratios (p < 0.001), while A260/230 ratios showed no statistical significance (p=0.212). Additionally, the vaginal microbiome results displayed noteworthy distinctions between fecal and vaginal samples. Identification of apoptosis as key biochemical mechanism in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease after hepatic steatosis through bioinformatics and functional analyses

Abstract: Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) represents a growing global health crisis and is closely associated with increases in obesity and type 2 diabetes. Despite its ubiquity, its underlying biochemical mechanisms and effective therapeutic strategies remain poorly defined, hampering the development of targeted interventions. Methods: Candidate genes were obtained from the GEO database, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis and gene set enrichment analysis were used to identify pathways involved in NAFLD-related pathways. The top genes with higher degree in the protein-protein interaction network were crossed with the top genes enriched in key pathways, and then the correlation analysis between key genes and chemotherapy response was performed. Result: Apoptosis, oxidative stress, NF-kB pathway, etc. are key pathways related to NAFLD. Lcn2, Mt1, Egr1, Jun, Nqo1, Btg2, Foxq1 and Hyou1 were enriched in key pathways of apoptosis. Effect of ketogenic diet in type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract: Diabetes is a prevalent chronic condition globally, where dietary intervention plays a crucial role in its management. The ketogenic diet, high in fat, moderate in protein and low in carbohydrates, was studied to determine its impact on people with type 2 diabetes. Pertinent research was collected and analysed. Ketogenic diet has positive effects on type 2 diabetes, which can decrease blood sugar, lose weight and improve insulin resistance. However, the ketogenic diet also has some negative effects, which can lead to some side effects, such as hypoglycemia, uneven nutrition, and abnormal gastrointestinal function, due to its special dietary structure. Therefore, when adopting ketogenic diet, the quality and quantity of diet need to be strictly controlled. In conclusion, ketogenic diet has a positive impact in patients afflicted by type 2 diabetes, but attention should be paid to the side effects that may be triggered, and monitoring and adjustment should be carried out to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the diet. Effect of quantitative brine process and curdlan gel on texture quality of spiced beef

Abstract: In order to solve the problems of loose texture and low quality of brined beef in the actual production process, this study took beef tendon as raw material, firstly, carried out the study of quantitative brining process to determine the optimal brining process; then, used the brine injection technique to add curdlan gel, and then used texture profile analysis (TPA) to study the effect of different types and amounts of curdlan gel (0%, 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%) on the textural properties of the brined beef. (TPA) was used to study the effects of different types and amounts of curdlan gel (0%, 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%) on the textural properties of brined beef. The optimum quantitative brining conditions for brined beef were determined by one-way and orthogonal tests: marinating time of 6 hours, brining time of 40 minutes and simmering time of 20 minutes, which gave the highest overall acceptability score. The results of the test calculations showed that the content of curdlan gel No. 1 was 71% and the content of curdlan gel No. 2 was 45%. The results of texture analysis showed that the hardness, stickiness and chewiness of the brined beef in the group added with curdlan gel gum No.1 decreased significantly (P<0.05), while the changes of elasticity, cohesiveness and reactivity were not significant (P>0.05); the hardness of the brined beef in the group added with curdlan gel gum No.2 increased slightly, and the changes of stickiness, chewiness, elasticity, cohesiveness and reactivity were not significant (P>0.05), indicating that the hardness of meat products did not necessarily just show a decreasing trend with the increase of the content of curdlan gel gum. Bioinformatics analysis reveals the key factors affecting the progress of osteoporosis

Abstract: The incidence rate of osteoporosis is high, and patients usually have decreased bone density and increased risk of fracture, which seriously affects their quality of life. This study aims to reveal key biomarkers that affect the progression of osteoporosis through bioinformatics methods. This study selected the GSE91033 and GSE93883 datasets for analysis, and obtained differentially expressed miRNAs using the GEO2R analysis tool; Predicting potential miRNA target factors through miRDIP and conducting pathway enrichment analysis of target factors through DAVID database; Analyze the interaction relationships between target factors through the STRING database, and construct a protein interaction network and a miRNA mRNA interaction network. The results showed that 73 and 79 differentially expressed genes were obtained in the GSE91033 and GSE93883 datasets, respectively. Common genes included hsa-miR-4508, hsa-miR-660-5p, and hsa-miR-424-5p. Pathway enrichment analysis showed that downstream target factors of differentially expressed miRNAs involved PIK/AKT, Wnt, Hippo, MAPK, and NF-κB pathway is closely related to cell proliferation and differentiation, and also involves intracellular phosphorylation activity. Protein interaction analysis revealed that CCND1, WEE1, MAP2K1, BTRC, FGF2, AXIN2, PTCH1, CCND2, KIF5C, DYNC1I1 and PAFAH1B1 are node genes involved in the progression of osteoporosis. Abstract: Viral warts are caused by HPV infection and result in the formation of benign proliferative lesions in humans. The diagnosis of viral warts is relatively simple and can be made on the basis of lesion characteristics, physical examination, laboratory tests and histopathology. Clinically, warts can be classified as common warts, flat warts, plantar warts, condyloma acuminatum and epidermodysplasia verruciformis. As warts tend to recur during treatment, a combination of treatments is more likely to prevent recurrence. This article is a review of advances in the treatment of warts. Nephroprotective effect of HZF by upregulating IκBα protein expression in DKD mice

Abstract: HEZHIFNAG (HZF) is a traditional Chinese prescription used to treat diabetes. In this study, a mouse model of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) induced by alloxan was used, and the random blood glucose of diabetic mice decreased significantly after the intervention of HZF, and the morphological results showed that HZF improved the pathological damage of glomeruli, reduced the degree of fibrosis of kidney tissue, and increased the expression level of IKBα in the kidney of diabetic mice, suggesting that HZF has a protective effect on the DKD mice, and the mechanism of action may be related to the up-regulation of IKB-α expression.
